Large Print Showcase

Do you have a favorite piece of fabric with a large print that you want to “showcase”?  Maybe beautiful flowers or scenery?  You can easily make this into a table topper with a few strips around it.  You can also combine fabric to make your own strip.  A fun beginner project!

Supplies:

  1.        The large Print Fabric (Amount depends on the print)
  2.        Complementing fabric to frame the large print 1/8th yard each
  3.        Backing fabric, this will depend on the finshed project size
  4.        Quilt batting, this too will depend on the finished project size
  5.        All purpose thread to match the top of the fabric

General Supplies:

Sewing Machine (Must have basic working knowledge on machine)

Rotary Cutter and ruler

Thread, Scissors, Pins and general sewing supplies

Prior to class: Prepare your fabric.  It is the sewer’s preference as to washing or not.  If you choose to wash, it helps to have less fraying by using “pinking” shears to cut the edges of your fabric before washing.  Fabric should be ironed/presses before class.
